Experience
Ariel brings nearly a decade of experience working in different fields of water with a focus on the Western United States. She holds a Master of Environmental Management in water resource management from Duke University and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science focusing on energy technology and climate science from Humboldt State University.
At Duke, she focused on how to develop large-scale water projects through classes in water finance, design and analysis of private-public partnerships, ecosystem services, and water law.
Prior to school, she spent seven years living in Santa Fe, New Mexico, working on water quantity and quality issues across the southwest with municipalities, private land owners, pueblos, acequias, and large-scale farming operations. She specialized in helping clients with complex water right permitting and litigation. Additionally, she had stints working with the National Park Service and government organizations.
Her areas of expertise are advising clients on water right strategies and water resource planning. Furthermore, she is adept at navigating complex environmental regulations and stakeholder negotiations. She strives to integrate and communicate all aspects of water resource management effectively. Ariel helps her clients understand and incorporate their short-term objectives and long-term perspectives while recognizing the trade-offs between efficiency and effectiveness.
